Hi, it would be nice to get rid of unnecessary umbrella projects and deep structure. But as Ed suggested, there are many links spread around that include segments for these umbrella projects. So if someone would take the effort to make it a smooth restructuring I am all for it, but if it causes problems for the community and/or is a huge effort, it is probably not worth it. It's not a big issue in the area I'm working, at least.
