Thanks, Ed, for your offer to help. You already do a lot of mentoring (and
do a great job of it), however, so it would be good to see somebody else
step up. I'd really like to try and expand our pool of "usual suspects".

The process regarding PMC approval of new proposals is actually a little
fuzzy, and--given that we don't really have channels for private
communication--challenging. I usually notify PMCs of new projects after
they've been opened for community review and depend on lazy consensus
instead of explicit approval. I should have announced the project to the
PMC list when it was posted live last week; sorry for the delay.

Most Modeling project proposals actually come to me via the PMC, so I've
gotten a bit lazy with regard to your TLP. I'll make sure that I announce
new proposals in a more timely manner in the future.
