P.S. Originally I wanted to report this on the ModemManager bugtracker as
pointed out in the wiki [1], but "entering a bug into the product ModemManager
has been disabled" [2].
IMHO: This device should behaves like a normal usbX / ethX - "LAN"
device. So you don't need the ModemManager at all.
Instead the NetworkManager should do the work.
