Martin I'd highly recommend using the new udev whitelist feature, in newer MM versions. Since you mention you're embedded & almost surely know the expected modem which will be used with your device.
Unfortunately, that is not necessarily the case. The device allows to connect "everything". But it is an important point, that the time printed by "blame" might not be the relevant information for me. I'll try to find the real culprits in boot time, which might be something else than NM or MM. Dan:
