Hi Aleksander, I tested your branch with my various modems. They were working properly with and without the ID_MM_HUAWEI_DISABLE_GETPORTMODE udev option. I did not see the serial timeout errors anymore.
the only issue I had with your branch was build failure when cross compiling it. I'll put the details in your merge request about that.
