I recall that patch, but I don't recall why it was not merged. I can point you to one that was fixed in 1.14.0 that would show the exact same symptoms you're seeing: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mobile-broadband/ModemManager/-/issues/155 The 1.12.x series is fully unsupported, the 1.14.x series still receives some fixes in the mm-1-14 git branch but not new releases are expected, the latest 1.16.x series is the currently supported one. And 1.18.0 will happen soon.
