I didn't like the album at all the first time I heard it (having been
in love with the previous efforts and also of Britt's solo tapes) but
it's really caught on. Songs that felt same-y really started to
differentiate themselves and I began to appreciate some fairly
impressive guitar and drum work. You might want to give it a second
try.
I'd call the best album of the year Actionslacks' "one word." Those
of you local to the bay area ought to scoop it up. In the nationally
accessible domain, I'd highly recommend the new Silver Jews album.
