[MMouse]: how modest mouse got its name

hey does anyone have any idea how modest mouse chose their title?
a girl i know on irc (who also happens to be the indie rock queen of
memphis TN) has a theory that its in honor of a composer Modest
Mussorgsky, who apparently wrote "pictures at an exibition" and "night
on bare mountain".
any hardcore facts on this matter??
