Good morning! Yes, the various members of Modest Mouse, particularly Jeremy and Eric, don't like the name... They've said that in various interviews. (Gratuitous name drop - again - the count is at 2) Since Eric is my step-brother, and I happened to be in town just before MM was formed, I spent some time with Eric and Jeremy, and with Eric I visited Isaac a few times. Eric and I did visit Isaac one day, where Isaac was in a songwriting mood, and he talked to Eric about forming a band. The initial name he wanted to give it was: "Cat & Mouse". I think "Modest Mouse" might come from a quote that stuck in his mind, but it really seems to me that he really wanted a band with the word "Mouse" in the name. ta- DAVE!!!
