I saw mm in november and one of the things I wanted to do was check out
what kind of equipment Isaac was using, specifically the trem setup of
his guitar --i love all the real interesting and cool
'weeeeeeoooowooooo' sounds he makes, i think i've heard Doug Martsch do
this on a live tape i have of BTS (thanks to Jamie). Floating trem,
probably, but then I checked out some pics and he wasn't even using a
whammy bar, i think he was using the press-down method i've seen some
people do, he did the same at the show I was at.
So what i've seen of his for guitars and can identify is a sonic blue
Fender Jag-Stang and one er two strats (i couldn't read the names, and
the headstocks weren't too clear to me) and one ibanez-like model
Looks/sounds like he's into the classic Fender amp tone too, from what i
can see I think he plays a Twin Reverb, and possibly a Quad Reverb
(although in pictures the cab of the amp looks much larger then the one
I have at home--different sort of Twin-based amp? maybe a model with
more speakers?).
I have no idea about his effects, other than that he uses a lot of delay
(live anyway for vocals too :)), and I'm sure the distortion is pedal
driven, i'm just not sure but what kind.
I'm just really into guitars, amps and effects and the like, I'm really
curious about the kind of equipment my favorite guitarists use. So if
you have any info (like interviews, and pictures etc etc) send it my
way, i'd appreciate it.
