Hey kids, I've been on the list for only a few weeks, but it's great to know there's so many other modest mouse fans out there. I've been into them for about a year now when I started playing tracks from Lonesome Crowded West on my college radio show in the LA area. Have since graduated and moved back up to the NW (the lovely city of Tacoma actually) and have been lucky enough to see the Mouse live four or five times in the past six months. I hadn't bought any of their albums because some friends said their live show in LA last spring was horrible (Isaac too drunk to play chords, etc). But this past summer got my own copy of LCW and loved it. Saw them live in various venues but was actually most impressed when they played at this festival put on by the local Alternarock (TM) radio station, The End. The station's pretty crappy, but every once in a while they throw you a curveball by doing something cool like having modest mouse play. They were awesome and Isaac was hilarious -- as he was tuning his guitar before the show strains of "Flagpole Sitta" were drifting over from where Harvey Danger was playing on the main stage. Isaac said something like "Where is this shit coming from" and gave a funny little speech about Harvey Danger. When Danger was done, the crowds started swarming over to the second stage where Modest Mouse just started playing. They tore the place apart -- it was great. Anyway, sorry to go on, i actually had a point to make. I have LCW and This is a Long Drive both of which are amazing. Could someone give me their opinion on TFTAI and Interstate 8 -- are they worth getting and is one of them a live album? Are their 7 inches also good and do they have different tracks then the albums? thanks mark
