im not sure what matador is releasing within the next year overall, but i do
know theyll be releasing records by two of the best underground hip hop
groups around, the arsonists, and non phixion. also, on the hip hop side of
things, im looking forward to picking up the dr dooom (aka kool keith, aka dr
octagon) album tomorrow. also, in case anyone is in new york and wants to
witness the best hip hop show youll ever see, krs-one is performing at tramps
tomorrow (wednesday the 5th).
keep it like a secret definately doesnt come close to the beauty of perfect
from now on, but in any case its still one of the better releases this year.
the trans am album is entertaining of course, and the vocals fit in nice.
i dunno, im not too up on the indie stuff like i used to be, but id like to
keep hearing what peoples favorites are tho.
the mogwai album is quite brooding and beautiful.
the roots album is excellent, and theyve much improved on their sound, well
worth checking out.
and of course the satisfact record is short and very very sweet, and very
infectious.
the indie hip hop comp "superrappin'" is pretty fresh, i look at it as sort
of a "lyricists lounge vol. two".
keep on sending those suggestions!
