i have had those songs (except track six) for three or four months now,
maybe more, and it is incredible. or maybe it is three months. these
songs have some of the most poignant lyrics isaac has ever written. they
are slow, and dont really rock out -- track 5 is remniscent of "talkin
shit..." from the long drive LP. night on the sun and dark center of the
universe have been played out a lot live -- you will hear them if yous ee
them play. you're the good things is, in many respects, my favourite
modest mouse song of all time. and wild pack of family dogs is a
"bankrupt on selling" or "it's all nice..." feeling song -- although it
still hits close to home -- best quote from the EP? it has to be
"everyone's afraid of their own life. if you could be anything you want,
i bet that you'd be dissapointed, am i right?" or "no one really knows the
ones they love. if you knew everything they thought of, i bet that you'd
wish they they'd just shut up." both from "you're life." this is one of
the best, and is defniitely the most mature, thing that the mouse has ever
released. DO NOT PASS IT UP!
