I've made it pretty
clear that i think the last offering from built to spill was extremely
weak..though i dont want to pin that faultering on the major label
influence..since its pretty obvious to anyone that PFNO was one amazing album,
and that was distributed under the WB major label. Its impossible to say
what the influence would be..and if there is one i think you wont see it in the
first album, its all about the contract. If MM wants to make another
album, and Epic is going to give them a ton of fucking money to do it..thats
awesome..more power to issac and i think he definately deserves to live the rest
of his life in total comfort for all the great things his albums have done for
my psyche. BUT, if Epic puts them under contract, say to produce a certian
amount within a certain time, weve got problems. If MM sits around, writes
a bunch of songs, and says "here epic, make us millionaires" thats one thing;
but if epic starts pushing MM, youll end up with the polished crap we got from
dug in his latest offering. Whatever you think about the quality of KILAS,
it just doesnt sound to me like they really cared about it..dug's always said
that he's incredibly lazy and is far from a perfectionist. Would Issac put
everything hes got into an album he knows is going to make him rich regardless
of the quality? I dont know him personally, and my opinons are totally
based on conjecture and scant memories of disjumbled articles, but im not sure
he would. Not that that is at all a bad thing, hes produced in a decade
what some people spend a lifetime trying to hold a candle to. I guess i
just want to keep my idols idols..i want to believe that they're above money,
above the vices ive been trapped into. Maybe im asking to much of
him.

Christmas Twin Falls, Idaho is her oldest memory,
she was only two, its the first time she felt blue.
Cafeteria Harrison, Elementary, Beneath a
parachute, i saw her without shoes.
7up i touched her thumb, and she knew it was
me. Although she couldn't see, unless of course she
peeked.
My mom's good she got me out of Twin
Falls, Idaho, before i got too old, you know how that goes.
Thats where she still was the summer, she turned 17, 1983, three weeks
after me. Last i heard was she had twins or, maybe it was three,
although ive never seen, except for in my dreams.
