i agree with the originator as well -- 'think' is one of the most
depressing songs i can think of.
pretty much everything off of 'electr-o-pura' by yo la tengo is very
lovelorn and depressing as well in my opinion. not that it isn't a
great album, but it's one of those things that can make me VERY
depressed if the setting is right. (and it usually is...)
and any bill stevenson written descendents or ALL song is usually
very lovelorn and sad, but not in the same vein of other music that'll
probably get mentioned on this list. ('scary sad' comes to mind
immediatly, along with 'she's my ex' and 'cleen sheets' and many
others...)
the acoustic silkworm ep ('the marco collins sessions') is also very
sad/depressing/lovelorn in my opinion. that may be more based on
the fact that the lyrics remind me of certain people that i know.
