i just recieved this important message from 'Thrasher Presents' and felt
it important enough to pass along...

The Oregon Liquor Control Commission is currently accepting comments and
concerns from the public regarding a proposed
amendment which would eradicate mixed use licenses which allow clubs
like Roseland, Crystal Ballroom, the former La Luna, the
Schnitzer, Civic Auditorium and countless smaller clubs to allow all
ages patrons and to serve alcohol in designated areas. Since
the sales of alcohol are supporting these clubs and they could not
survive without alcohol sales, it would force these venues to
become 21 and over. In time, this would probably force the closure of
most of these venues, since their capacity is much larger than
the number of over 21 patrons who go to shows, and without all ages
people to fill out the draw the venues would be at best half full.
The McMenamins have been good enough to post the information about this
amendment on their website, and I encourage all of you
to check it out and write a letter to the commissioners sharing your
concern for how this law would effect the live music community
in Oregon. Heres the URL:
