<<I think I experience enough reality every
effin' day. Call it escapism, I need an excuse.>>

Hmm. Dont you just hate it when people demonstrate
their proficency at using the "cut and paste"
function? Now i understand a little better why this
list seems so negative lately. I mean, sure i
understand that if i choose to post my opinions on a
particular topic that they're open to criticism.
<<You probably didn't like The Matrix either.>>
However, i dont really like being told what i probably
would or would not like. So you experience enough
reality everyday, huh? Well obviously attempting (and
succeding) in being a jackass online is your way of
coping with it. Do you want to express your own
opinions or just walk all over anyone elses attempt to
do the same? God forgive me if i dont praise Fight
Club has the modern thought provoking classic you do.

<<I would be very sad indeed if every movie that
graced
the low-lit screens of my local maximulticineplex was
believable.>>
Hmm. Did any post i've ever made say that i wanted
every movie to be believeable? As a matter of fact I
liked The Matrix, just like i liked Fight Club.

<<Are you sure you didn't accidentally walk into
"Bats"
instead of "Fight Club"? >>
Hmm, lets see. Bats are those fuzzy, flying rodents,
right? No, i think i had the right theatre.
<< You couldn't 'sift anything
meaningful' out of a film that rages against the
societal and cultural demands of consumerism today?>>

Hmm. Well, rage against the societal and cultural
demands of consumerism, isnt really relavent to my
life, personally. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a
consumer.
<<You found no message about this generation's need
for
materialism and instant gratification?>>
Hmm. Good point. I hadnt really thought about it
from that perspective. Too bad you had to be such a
cock in making your point.

<< All you saw
was 'people getting their asses kicked?' Wow.
Unreal.>>
Hmm. I think anyone that saw the movie would be hard
pressed to say that they didnt see people getting the
shit beat out of them constantly. Not that youwouldnt
expect it anyways. The title was Fight Club, right?
I guess maybe that in itself says something about
society and violence but what else is new. Of course
im able to comprehend that there is more to a film
than the visual and i never meant to imply that this
movie was only that. I liked how the triviality of
modern life's trappings and the hopelessness of the
dead end white collar job was touched on. My point,
which seems to have been totally missed, was that
nothing in the movie has any relation to my day to day
life. I dont rage about mindless followers, form
militant groups with one of my multiple personalities,
explode buildings, punch myself in parking lots,
etc... Yes, pHil, i enjoyed the story line and the
film, overall. I enjoy films of all kinds but enjoy
best those which i draw a personal relevance to. Is
that so hard to understand?
But anyways...
Got the Red Stars Theory. Thumbs up.
Also i got a Guided by Voices album the other
day....under the bushes under the stars. This album
is pretty damn good. Ive never listened to them
before and im wondering if this is representative of
most of their stuff? I've heard people say that the
latest one wasnt so great and that the only orginal
member left is Robert Pollard. Whats the consensus?

Baby, I'm amazed.

And last but certainly not least, I would like to
complain about the number of complaints that are
addressing the posts that are posting e-mails about
the posts with messages about posts that don't mention
Modest Mouse. That's just wrong. So there you go.
