I love that the entire list is contributing their opinions about the "look"
of the indie scene! Most everyone i know, including myself to an extent,
fits the stereotypes. I mean my friends have the thick glasses and we wear
chucks and thrift store clothes. As much as I like it, I think it's also
really funny. Anyway...
One of the most vital items someone can have is the ever popular EMO SACK...
whether it's dickies brand (like mine) or you found it at a thrift
store...nothing shouts emo like and over the shoulder bag....especially if
there are pins and patches on it ...
If this is not indie fashion, then I don't know what is....
There was a MULLET at the Get Up Kids show in Chicago. That strikes me
as incredibly funny...I hope everyone else can see the humor of seeing
something like that at an indie/emo/whatever show.
One more thing, there is an article in the Chicago tribune that reviews the
Get Up Kids show and goes on to discuss the "indie scene". It says something
about Weezer and generation x and then said something like "weezer, remember
those guys? The four white kids that wore their hearts on their
sleeves...blah blah blah..." it's pretty funny, so check it out if you can.
