i once felt the same way about sleater kinney, but they came highly
recommended by this girl with awesome taste in music so i didnt just give
up on them. ive learned to not let singers voices get in the way. its like
getting past jello biafras squalking or j mascis whining and seeing theres
something amazing there. with sleater kinney its the two contrasting female
voices and the contrasting lyrics they sing. i guess im just a big fan of
female vocals, but i think its so so good. i can also see where youre
coming from with the screeching comments though. people have said it to me
about sleater kinney. the same people have also called modest mouse a
drunken redneck blashpheming to shitty guitar work. to each their own...
