Heroin is not that addictive? Wow, I just don't know how many levels of complete ignorance reside in this singular statement. But what really shocked me about this discussion is hearing some people say that they know their friends are on the shit, and they can't be bothered to do anything about it. Intervention is an option, and it's not easy or incredibly successful. But once you've had to pay yr final respects to people you grew up with, it becomes the only feasible option. It's easy to disassociate yrself and say that it's their "choice" and whatnot, but sometimes it's not entirely a choice... it's an ADDICTION. And addicts need help. Sometimes they will want yr help, and sometimes they won't. But given the decision between pissing off one of my friends by trying to save their life over letting them suffer the consequences of their choice, I will do everything I can to help. One day they'll say that they need to quit, they need help, and the next they might tell you to go away. But going away and leaving them alone is not the answer. If you care about someone, make a difference... and even if they've just gotten clean, continue to be a presence in their life. Getting clean is not the end of the journey, it's a continuing commitment to life itself. And as far as MDMA (the major ingredient in every type of "Ecstasy") goes, each tiny dosage permanently severs nerve endings in the brain. Doing damage doesn't even begin to explain the harmful effects. End rant. > and you will know them by the trail of dead-madonna > which is the band and which is the album > title...does it matter? Just for the record: If Madonna released an album by this name, I would buy it. Trail of Dead are indeed the proper rawk. yr guidance counselor, *phiL* __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. All in one place.
