Modest Mouse Finish Third LP
Isaac Brock no longer a Jawbreaker fan
Brent DiCrescenzo reports:
"Modest Mouse have finished recording their major label debut for Epic
Records. The band holed up in Chicago over the fall with producer Brian Deck,
the former drummer for Red Red Meat. Production was halted for a couple months
after singer Isaac Brock had his jaw broken by some Chicago thugs. A broken
jaw certainly would disturb Issac's delicate, ethereal voice. Of course, bones
heal, and the album was polished off last month. The new record is described
as having shorter, more- Pixies-ish tunes.
In other Modest Mouse news, their singles and rarities compilation, Building
Nothing Out of Something will finally see release on January 18th on their
previous home, Up Records. The album was originally slated for release in
October but licensing and production issues held things up. Isaac Brock will
also be recording a solo album for Sub Pop in early 2000 under the alias Ugly
Cassanova."

Wasn't there an Ugly Cassanova song (or two) already released?
