Slander I believe inherently involves spoken word. That is what seperates it from libel which demands written statements. Either way the statements must be proven to be lies. It is not enough for the person accused to say they are false. Once Russ or any person is accused of the crime of slander or libel the burden of proof is on the accuser. Russ would only have to show that it was reasonable for him to think his statements were true, and I think that the wankers e-mails show this quite clearly. declan
