best shows: shudder to think. as i've said before, nathan and craig make this straight, married little boy question his sexuality. hot damn! godspeed you black emperor w/labradford and scarnella . . . just something you have to experience to even begin to comprehend, really. juno, opening for modest mouse at the redmond fire house about three years ago . . . there were three other bad, tiresome bands that played before juno, so i didn't bother to hear them, until the last two songs of their set. . .and it still stands as one of the greatest show experiences of all time. modest mouse left after three songs, so that wasn't very exciting. jawbox, opening for stone temple pilots at the gorge in washington. . . a transforming experience. modest mouse, fighting hecklers from the stage, opening for i fergit? and gas huffer back in 96 (? it was about half a year before long drive... was released). . . the realization that i was watching something truly amazing, even as the rest of the crowd was flipping them off. viva la punk rock or something. it's good to see that i fergit? (who made some slightly disparaging comment about the mouse upon taking the stage) never made it anywhere. star
