I'm not sure if we're still on the have-the-get-up-kids-sold-out thing or
not, but i'd say they haven't. i'm from kansas city, their hometown, and a
couple of weeks ago they played their last show before their japan tour this
spring and i must say it was amazing. they played 2 straight hours of
tear-you-heart-out indierock for 8 bucks at an all ages venue downtown. they
sure gave it their all and they definately played for themselves if not for
us too. they took requests and played an awesome cover of "close to me" by
the cure which they say they've never played live and i'd never heard their
version and i almost lost it all..yeah..but anyway...they haven't sold out
and i hope they never do. besure to check out a band that's touring with
them on the east coast this summer ( i think) they're called Anniversary,
Robbie the bassist of GUK lives with them in Lawrence, ks and the
singer/guitar player for anniversary is my cousin's boyfriend or fiance or
something..yeah, but anyway...that's my 2 cents for today
