i just got back from denton texas and let me tell you, it was a fucking mad house. There were about three hundred and fifty people crammed in a maximum capacity space of about two hundred. An albuquerque band called somersault (ex-flake music) opened and they were really awesome. Then Love as Laughter played and it wasn't until the last song that i realized the amount of people packed in this place. I was right up front and bam everyone started dancing and I was practically crushed for the rest of the night. When the mouse took the stage the place was already rilled up. They played a great set with a mix of old and new and Isaac played every song I requested. He even played wild pack of family dogs, it was awesome. They played for a long time, closed with tundra/desert, and came back out and did a five song encore. It was two and half hours of the bestest most uncomfortable show I've ever been to (I have the bruises to prove it), but it was worth everyone mile driven. Highlights: 1) I asked Jerimiah to give me a kiss while he was setting up and he gave this weird smile and said ok. He didn't kiss me but it was just kind of funny. I think he knew i was joking around with him. 2) Isaac put his guitar down, Eric and Jerimiah played "betacarotene" version one while Isaac jumped around into the crowd and sang some jibberish. He started screaming "I'm just gonna lay down" and dead weighted everyone that was trying to pick him up. It was great. 3) Isaac said he was selling a modest mouse manual on how to extend a set when you've run out of ideas and I asked him how much it was and he replied "how much would you pay for such a manual". I screamed "TWO DOLLARS" and he looked at me and started saying "I,I,I,I,I....." with a his vocal effects pedal all the while still staring straight at me. It kind of creeped me out. 4) My friend asked Jerimiah to sign his ass and jerimiah got a pen and signed his initials and then isaac wrote big fat ass on my friends ass and then my friend showed his ass to the crowd. another disturbing moment. 5) Isaac sitting in the back of their van selling merchandise with a few too many beers in his system and haggling prices over cigarettes. This was the best show I have ever been to and I hope some of you were there and want to talk to me about it cause I can rant for hours at how awesome it was. jacob
