They're just idiots. Most likely Napster will die..they don't have the
legal expertise to compete with a powerhouse like one of the five
majors..there's no possible way. But its not like it matters..Napster could
die tomorrow..but the internet will still be here..and look at how scared
the majors get at a little bandwith. This wouldn't even be an issue if all
these college kids were running at 14.4 baud modems..but get them on a
T1..and suddently they're the spawn of Satan.
You'd have an easier time putting out a fire with a bucket of
kerosene...point, laugh, and watch them stumble their way back into the
stone age. You can't be on the cutting edge of technology and expect to
wage the same power struggles you did thirty years ago..Did these people
forget to keep turning the calander pages once we got into the 80's or
something? ...it'll be so much fun to watch them destroy themselves. Please
guys..don't turn into your parents..let them fail..let them fail badly.

yeah, i laughed out loud at this one too.
metallica are one of the richest bands on the planet, one of the only "rock"
bands who are achieving continued success thru the late 90s. and apparently
they just want to keep raking in the cash, even if it means fucking with all
those innocent kids. at the very least, they should be honest and say that
the reason why they're doing it is because it's costing them money, albiet a
very small percentage of the fortune they've amassed and will continue to
add to. greedy greedy fucks.
