It's always great when the asshole/troublemaker gets thrown out of the show.
It was sometime in the 80's, I was really young like Jr. High and my dad
took me
and a friend to see Stevie Ray Vaughan at the Midland Holliday Inn Ballroom,
in Midland,
TX. Now I was too young to know just how cool that is to see a band play at
a Holliday
Inn Ballroom which is a really cheesy square room basically and in Midland,
TX to boot.
Midland/Odessa is the real trailer trash capitol of the world, reguardless
of where Isaac and MM come from. Anyways, we are waiting outside to get in
and my friend and I are freaked out by all the trashy ladies with zebra
pants and leoapard skin pants on and sleezy tops and lots of rough types
there. This big fat guy who already has his shirt off who seems to know
everyone in line goes right up to the door and he somehow gets in when they
hadn't opened the doors yet even. He said before he, 'needed to get another
drink'. We decided to call him "Chunk" because the goonies had just come
out and he looked like he was doing the truffle shuffle. Anyways, once the
show started and I figured out that guy with all the hats and bandanas on
was SRV, we went to the front in front of the tower of speakers because no
one else could stand the wailint guitar noise so we were right up front.
This guy Chunk is raising hell and being obnoxious and pissing everyone off
up there until finally he pulls this ladies shirt up and starts pouring beer
on her boobies. That was it, all these bouncer guys jump in the crowd and
pull him off screaming and kicking, but scarily enough, he looks like he
went out having a great time he was still laughing and laughing all the way
out the door with all these guys putting him in headlocks and half nelsons
and what not. Everyone cheered and was happier then.
Good times.
