Hi all I'm new to this list. I hate to start in on such a controversial note, but... I've been listening to MM's new album and don't get me wrong, I actually think elements of it are pretty and well composed but does anyone here think it rips a little off Mars Accelerator? Maybe that is not a coincidence since both bands are from the same hometown but _The_M&A_ sounds a lot like _Frankfurt_Telephonics_ at least conceptually. Not as much musically... they obviously have some of the same influences (BTS, Pixies, Flaming Lips, etc. but MA sounds more like Polvo & MBV where MM sounds more like BTS & Pixies.) Well, I was just wondering if anyone felt the same. It seems like MA has been doing the interwoven album with elaborate songwriting thing for as long as they havve been around (not that its a new concept or anything) and I always thought of MM and MA as being two separate entities out of a similar mold - modest mouse was the visceral and MA was the cerebral (even though they both obviously ocerlapped to some extent). It just seems weird I guess.
