> Do you ever grow tired? Do you ever pause, take a breath, and reflect > upon the constant Blah-blah-blah you toss about? Like: Hell, maybe > @ age 12 I don't know every fucking thing under the sun? at age 12 i thought that, and coincidentally..at age 16 i still feel the *exact same way!* believe it or not, just because i don't like led zeppelin and i'm opinionated doesn't mean that i think i know everything. mind you, i do recall using "in my opinion" or something to that extent repetitively throughout this thread so don't step ;) > With the huge mistake of labeling Led Zeppelin as 'cockrock,' you > completely disregard their respect for the blues genre. (Which, in > my opinion, is the antithesis of whatever the hell 'cockrock' is.) > W/out such bands as Led Zeppelin & the Rolling Stones covering > (albeit not as well as the originals) blues standards & bringing such > songs to the consciousness of dumb-founded Americans, we may have > let some great magic slip past. (I mean, when the Stones came across > the Atlantic & requested to see Muddy Waters, the g'd reporters > wondered: Muddy what? Muddy who?) hmm i'd rather not let the rolling stones come into this. i like them, i think they were at one point one of the greatest influences a band could be to those inspired by them. as for led zeppelin, i don't feel that way. i don't care if blues and cockrock are on the opposite ends of the spectrum, that doesn't mean that led zeppelin didn't somehow create cockrock through their own music, independent of their blues influences and to somehow fit such a ridiculous equation into this seems mindless and bullshitty to me. (thank you, thank you, i did that run-on sentence all by my very self!) i agree that bringing blues to the homes of those who wouldn't ever listen without the help of big bands like the rolling stones and led zeppelin is a good thing, but i still think, and i quote, that "LED ZEPPELIN BLOWS GOATS." > Led Zeppelin always paid tribute to the blues musicians they covered-- > unlike some fried-banana & peanut-butter yahoos--& they covered them w/ > style. I admit I could go a year (++++++) w/out hearing a Led Zeppelin > song, but yr treating them to something less than they deserve. But, > maybe, if yr mom hates them, that's all the justification you need? yeah, well good for them and i appreciate that because i like blues. i just think that led zeppelin were the spawn of cockrock and their music isn't that great. hmm apparently you read my emails pretty closely tho, huh? how clever of you to point out that my mom hates them so i must too! i'm just that small minded, which is why i'm getting my ass eaten out by you for not liking them. to be my mom's bitch is just THAT WORTH IT. - amy
