This is my weekly Monday post to the list. I read the group at home, but for some reason I can't post to it from there so all this stuff goes by and by the time I get here it's gone. BUT, let's recap: You kids and the stickers have been a lot of fun.. the best part was when Ken said, "I'm looking in your directions.." and also Grace saying, "Unsubscribe, please help me unsubscribe". I really enjoy you guys, even in tough times like the great isaac sticker debaucle. This is one of the better list serves I've been on. I'm on an exotic music mail list that is fun, but so many people and so many posts I can't keep up at all. ---- Loud Venues - I hate loud venues.. Emo's in Austin is our loud venue where you DON'T want to see a quiet band. My friends saw Pedro the Lion and they said they were befuddled the whole time because they couldn't hear themselves playing and singing. People are loud, drunk, and rude there.. sure.. if Murder City Devils are playing that's fine.. but when Isaac played as Ugly Cassanova or when Daniel Johnston played.. people are downright fucking rude to act like they are watching the band when they are really just showing up to be cool and run their jaws about what they are doing after the show to be cool, and where they are going tmr to be cool, and what they will do to be cool next week. LAME. ----- Movies - I never saw the new lolita. Meant to, it was supposed to follow the book more closely. It did have a soft focus showtime look to it. I love the Kubrick Lolita.. lots of innuendo as it was too dirty to be outright obvious when it was made. They says things like, "It's your cherry pie" and "I love extra mayonaise!". Gross. I think there was a Lolita (movie) reference on the simpsons the other night.. one of my fav new episodes.. the handgun episode (a gun is not a weapon marge! It's a tool.. like a harpoon.. or uh.. an alligator. you just need more education on the subject!)... homer shoots the picture of marge accidently.. it's the same bullet holes as the picture in lolita gets shot with at the beggining.... Saw Chuck and Buck this weekend.. Anyone? Anyone? Also Lawrence of Arabia in the theater! Wow.. it was great but it ended too soon at 3.5 hours.. it didn't feel like it was ending and it was filmus interuptus at that point... Watched Trust on video... perhaps should be mentioned under dry movies I love.. but it has more humor and music than your average dry movie.. still love it... Hartley's best.. is there any disputing? ---- Leigh, I have 1/2 of that tape done. I had computer problems yesterday. My flux capacitor came lose from my hyperdrive engine. P.S. I'd dress up like a goat for you anytime, because I do it all the time anyways while washing dishes and doing chores. So call me, on a line, call me call me, anytime. ---- Favorite MM line? Give me some time. There are too many.
