an american feminist is about as useless as a dirty mop on your kitchen
floor ;) no offense...
to me a true feminist is someone who's not trying to be a feminist, but
just wants not to be oppressed. see my example of how last names work in
iceland, or the screenwriters in the early 20th century who opened up the
floodgates for other women to write before they were shut again when the
movie industry got too large. uhmm, women writing books that you won't
find in opera's book club, etc.
when i hear "feminism," or rather the "f-word" i do sort of get a shiver
down my spine, because the fact of the matter is that most women who do
consider themselves feminists AREN'T modest and i don't mean that in a
militant lesbian sort of way. i'm talking, rather, about how they perceive
how women should be looked at as - the same as men basically.
