This is a clip of an interview with Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie. It's amusing, and there's mention of Isaac halfway down... Death Cab for Cutie by Sujan Hong Insound: Did you ever read Ball Four? The players had a game where they’d figure out what type of baseball player a musician would be, just based on the sound of their name. Bob Pollard? BG: He would be the surly catcher. Up and out all night long, really surly behind the plate. He’d be heckling everyone that came up to bat. And would be at a cocktail lounge right after the game every day. I:Stephin Merritt. BG:Bat boy. He’d want so much to play the game. I don’t mean that in disrespect, but he would be the bat boy that was always a step away from being in the game. I love Stephin Merritt. I would never dis him. I:Doug Martsch. BG:Doug Martsch would bat fifth, probably playing left field and always making great catches and getting on base. He would be the silent killer on the team. Everyone in the baseball world doesn’t acknowledge him but everyone who plays baseball knows how great he is. I: How about Chris Walla? BG: Chris would be the pitcher that was always a little bit wild and a little bit crazy. You never knew if he was gong to throw at your head or not. But when he was on, he strikes out people like it’s going out of style. People are scared of him cause he throws really fast but you never know when it was going to be a wild day or a non-wild day. I: Isaac Brock. BG: Isaac Brock would be like Ty Cobb. Kind of surly, kind of nasty a lot of the time. People had a hard time dealing with him but they knew he was really great at what he did. I: Jeff from Neutral Milk Hotel? BG: Jeff would be like the rookie of the year. He had so much promise and then he decided he didn’t want to play baseball.
