Ok, since I'm such an important and well respected member of this mailing
list, I felt it was my duty to say something about the Real World.

First off, T.V. is evil. It's bad.. it's a really pointless endeavor for
the most part to spend much time in front of it unless you are watching PBS
or the Hitler Channel, or movies. But, it should be kept in mind that TV is
for entertainment. Music is for entertainment. I really have no problem
with T.V. except I am really annoyed by commercials and try and flip away
from watching them, mute them, or go do something else for 2.7 minutes
during breaks. Also t.v. keeps you sedentary, unlike music where you can do
other things.

However, I have watched most of the Real Worlds since the first one except
for London and the one before or after that was pretty boring. I don't
think they are bad, I think they are pretty entertaining to watch how these
different people bond through the course of time and watching the conflicts
that arise. Also, if you are at all in to the technical aspect of film/t.v.
they are really well done.. the editing and dramatizing of their lives in to
30 min digests set to sappy and dramatic music is fun to watch. Of course,
I feel a lot of the action is staged to some degree which was confirmed on
the very first real world when they went to Jamaica or whatever island
paradise where the girls were told they should 'try and hook up with some
guys'. So it's not even very 'real' but that doesn't matter, wrestling
isn't real either but it sure does entertain millions of people around the
world. Neither show is that much different than the works of Bill
Shakespeare who retold stories full of conflict and betrayel and bloodshed
that the common man would sit and watch for 2 hours as a break from his
otherwise mundane life.

So anyways, too much t.v. bad, but t.v. for entertainment, good. I went
through a phase were I was anti-t.v. and didn't watch it at all for about a
year. Didn't miss it that much, but things weren't that much different with
it as without it. I do recall a sad, low point in college where I skipped
class and watched C.H.I.P.S and Charlie's Angels and Talk Soup and anything
else that was on for 3 or 4 hours a day and just because I was completely
bored and miserable but it wasn't t.v.'s fault I did that, it was mine.

p.s. big brother, survivor, and millionaire all suck. I wouldn't call you
an asshole if you watched them, but I wouldn't condone it either.

Zach
Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole.
