Re: mics I would highly CoreSounds binaural mics. They are a bit pricey from what I understand, but they are easy to conceal and produce high-quality recordings. I have a friend who has them for his DAT, and his shows come out sounding pristine, but then he knows his equipment pretty damn well, too. Also, it is very possible to record stereo and achieve successful separation, either using a stereo cardoid mic or using two separate binaurals. In obtaining the best stereo sound possible, you have to be aware of yr position in the room as well as knowing a little bit about acoustics. If the PA speakers are facing straight ahead, put yr mics toward each speaker; however, if they are facing a little toward the walls, cross yr mics in an "X" and point them to the opposite walls to pick up the sound that way. Just some suggestions. Also listening to lots of yummy drone and Bardo. And some Polvo and Quickspace.
