what about 'head of the class?' howard hesseman traded in the radio
station for the classroom in this hilarious sitcom that laughed it's way
right into my heart. one can't help but wonder if this motley class of
gifted and talented students taught mr. hesseman more lessons than he
taught them. noteable cast members include robbin givens, who now hosts
'forgive or forget,' tony o'dell who also starred in 'the chopping mall,'
and some fat guy who is probably in jail now. did anyone ever watch the
friday the 13th or nightmare on elmstreet television series? pretty scary
stuff. but let's wave bye-bye to this era. it's time to tackle the 90's.
i'll kick it off. what happened to 'herman's head,' 'parker lewis can't
lose,' and 'big brother jake?' then there were the many '90210' and
'melrose place' rip offs--'the heights', 'models inc.', 'malibu
shores'...for a while there it seemed aaron spelling's golden touch turned
in to the touch of shit. back to the 80's...does anyone remember, 'mc
grouder and loud?' they were male and female cops and that's about all i
know. i seem to be the only one who remembers it. i'm starting to think i
made it up and this scares me. does anybody really, really miss degrassi
junior high? '90210' looked like child's play compared to this edgy
canadian drama about teenagers grappling with sex, drinking, and i'm
willing to bet, gambling.
