1) modest mouse -"moon and Antarctica'" ....... whoa!, talk about a let down.
even the pictures suck. usually brock at least can throw in some nice sx-70
polaroid images to keep us happy. this album basically confirms my theory
that the mouse lack the maturity necesary to consistently write incredible
songs. Lonesome crowded is so fucking amazing though, don't know what
happened here. maybe they stopped drinking. Kind of like what happened to the
replacements after they all sobered up.....
i don't know, maybe ill stick to Will oldham. at least he's consistent.
anyone out there like will oldham? joya is incredible
2) Will Oldham-guarapero lost blues 2. -I really like this guy, but i think
this compilation of b sides and rarities pales in comparison to lost blues 1.
at least they cover artwork and photos are beautiful though.
3) built to spill-Live- i love doug martsch. i love is fucking guts. i have
been watching him play in treepeople and BTS for 15 years or so. i love
built to spill. i love them live. i hate buying live albums unless they're by
Rush. whatever, i thought it would be different. i even bought the double
vinyl with the bonus tracks. it's good, but still a big disapointment.
especially they 20 minute cover of that neil young song. YAWN.
