"<< Tim Kinsella >> the most brilliant person in music. no joke." This really is a lovely opinion, if a grandiose and misinformed one. And that would be my opinion. And I really don't understand why everyone compares At the Drive In to Rage Against the Machine. Honestly, where are the similarities? Lead singer is latino. Great, so that means Caetano Veloso and Cafe Tacuba are both RATM mock-ups as well? When I first heard "Relationship of Command," I couldn't help but think of Fugazi. In case you're not aware of this, RATM incorporates elements of hip-hop and riff-rock to create a sound some would call unique. I hear nothing funky in ATDI, and for that matter, nothing terribly groundbreaking either. That's not to say that I don't like them, as I think their new one is a great rock album, but how can people align them with RATM? Can someone please expound on this fabled theory for me, please?
