<< first of all, i hope modest mouse never plays in providence again (according to isaac, it was the first time they'd ever been there), unless they preceed it or follow it up with a boston show. >> the shitheels were supposed to play providence once with the young pioneers, a long long time ago, after a boston show, but they cancelled it and drove straight to the worst city in the world. they claimed to have van troubles but i'm of the opinion thats bullshit. i think they knew they wouldnt get too many people to see them in providence on a tuesday or whichever weeknight it was. and there isnt a venue in boston better than fort thunder, lupos or the met cafe. except for some warehouse in chinatown where i saw shellac, but i think that was primarily an art gallery or something like that. more bands should skip boston in favor of providence until theres someplace better to play.
