That's why I have suggested some time ago to create a repository of fixed
RPMs and DEBs and other packages available for mod_perl community. See the
guide/install.html for a clean RPM package that builds into a static
mod_perl.
How much effort would it take you to fix the source RPM or whatever
package to make it usable for others and make it available from
perl.apache.org? Come on folks, instead of spending time in useless argues
and explaining newbies why this or that package doesn't work - let's start
fixing stuff!
Let's make it even easier, there were a few posts lately about win32
mod_perl builds and a few RPMs from before. I volunteer to create a new
page with links to your servers, where people can grab the packages from.
Send me the links and explanations and I'll make them available for the
rest of us.
