Ideas and Associates is looking for experienced Perl programmers in the Montreal area to work on very popular web sites. The web sites use modperl and Oracle and run on Unix servers. Please send resumes to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Skill sets we need are: o Strong Perl 5 experience, with at some familiarity with Perl 5 references, and objects. We don't need a Perl guru but we need to do more than a system administrator writing perl 4 file processing hacks. Experience with Modperl specifically would be great. o Deep understanding of HTTP including the mechanics of redirects, cookies, forms submissions etc. Also experience with browser compatibility issues such as applets, framesets, and rendering quirks would be appreciated. o Strong SQL experience, preferably on Oracle with DBD::Oracle. Experience optimizing Oracle queries with explain would be a big plus. Experience with traditional DBA responsibilities such as managing tablespaces and backups would be great as well. o Familiarity with basic tools of the trade such as CVS, SSH. This is for full-time on-site work in Montreal. While I'm a fan of telecommuting, these positions won't be appropriate for that. Ideas And Associates is a young startup, we've already designed and implemented some very popular web sites and have some ambitious projects coming up soon.
