$r->server->timeout directly gets/sets the value for the httpd.conf Timeout directive for the server in question - see Chapter 4 in the cookbook ;) I don't have a copy of the Eagle book in front of me, and we don't talk about these methods explicitly, but IIRC they manipulate Apache's internal timeouts, which are based on the Timeout setting. --Geoff
