I have to become another CVS hacker!

Couldn't I upgrade my test.pm, instead, Daddy? Please? Can't I?

On the opposite, I'm glad you had an old Test.pm, now others who will come with the stock 5.6.1 won't encounter this problem. We really ought to test the release with stock perls as well...

Does that mean that, no, I *can't* just upgrade my Test? :-)

Yes, you are doomed and you will have to use that version for the rest of your life. If you will be a good netizen, may be in the next reincarnation you will be able to bump up to the latest version. If you sin, you will have to use the CVS version for eternity ;)

Ok, I'm a wimp. I hate working with CVS builds. My target is a
production WebGUI server, though, with half a dozen or more (hopefully
:-) fairly high traffic sites. I'd rather run the packaged build, even
though it's gamma, than CVS.

I looked for a site from which to snarf a Test.pm build package, the
way I did with CGI.pm, and couldn't find one. Suggestions?

The problem you have encountered exists only the test suite, it doesn't affect mod_perl itself. So you can just go ahead and install it, ignoring these errors if using the cvs version of upgrading to the latest Test.pm is not an option.

To get the latest Test.pm, use CPAN.pm/CPANPLUS clients or search.cpan.org to manually install it: http://search.cpan.org/~sburke/Test-1.24/
