OK, it's been a while since I have had to configure an
apache website from a "user's" rather than an
"admin's" perspective. I just signed up with an ISP
that has apache with perlmod and a whole buncha libs
installed. They have most of what I need, but from
time to time I like to play with some perl handlers,
such as to pseudo-stream collections of my music files
(as in 'my' music - not commercial mp3's mind you) or
to auto-index/thumbnail images etc.

I also wouldn't mind installing an implementation of
Apache::ASP which they don't currently have installed
but told me that if I could get it to work locally, I
was welcome to do so.

Now, I need to remember how to do that. I am assuming
it is going to be an .htaccess thing if their server
is even configured to let me do it at all, but rather
than spend hours prying through help files to find all
the 'just right' settings for what I am doing, I
thought maybe I would ask if anyone is familiar with
doing this kind of set up first.

I run a very similar system here to the one they are
running there as far as the glibc, kernel version,
perl version, etc. - both linux based, both with
apache. I already used CPAN to build 'local' versions
of the Apache::ASP bundle for my first attempt, so
it's probably best to use that as an example for
starters.

Any help to cut down the RTFM time is greatly
appreciated.
