Hi guys

I'm getting a new server set up with rackcheck and I've chosen fedora
core, as I sort of know it.

It's also going to have plesk on it which I've not used at all yet,
but looks better than Ensim

They've asked which version of Fedora I want. Fedora Core 2 or 3.

Any suggestions/warnings. I want to run Mod_Perl/Apache 2

I run mp2/apache2 on fc2 just fine. The 2's seem to go together... :-)

I do compile my own perl, mp2, and apache2. The rpms for perl, mp, and apache don't always sync up with what I need for mp2/apache2.

fc3 should be fine as well, though I haven't used it. fc2 has just been moved to legacy status, though I'm not sure if that matters much. However, if you are just getting started fc3 might be the better choice.

A little note on plesk: I see people ask for help on plesk on the qmail mailing list, and they get shot down with comments like "Plesk is not qmail. Go ask plesk for help." Just something to be aware of.

Take care,
