if it walks like a duck. it must be a duck.
If you don't see that
mod_perl is running, that means that it doesn't.
It might be installed,
but if it's not enabled then it's not running.
The easy way to check
whether the .conf file is actually loaded is to add
some garbage in it. if
it's loaded httpd will fail to
start.
