That's essentially what happens if you just set it with Apache2::RequestUtil->request($r) at the start of your handler. Then you don't need to the PerlOptions +GlobalRequest setting.
Thats what i thought... but then phil mentioned the threaded COPY issue, so i just wanted to avoid that.
