Sure. And then we can drop things under those dirs, /patches/etc. as well as distributions and release candidates.

It also should be easy to transform stable/ into /dist on apache.org. Or anywhere else we may distribute from.

I'm thinking of adding the following dirs to httpd-proxy:

module-1.0 - for the 1.3.x stuff
stable - releases, updates, /dist on apache.org, etc.
development - the latest/special stuff (inc. release candidates)

and

stable/apache_1.3.19
stable/apache_1.3.20-dev
stable/httpd-2_0_18-beta
development/apache_1.3.20-dev
development/httpd-2_0_18-beta

basically a /stable and a /development per release for staging.

and some quick scripts to stage an httpd source distrib out of these.
1.3 or 2.0. Sound reasonable?

I'm not so sure the version directories are a good idea, apart from the patches which are version specific anyway. This is what CVS is for.

How about:

stable/apache-1.3
stable/apache-2.0
development/apache-1.3
development/apache-2.0

So, the module-2.0 directory becomes development/apache-2.0.
