I've also heard a story about a lawsuit between Piaggio and Scooterworks.
As the story goes, Piaggio never registered the Vespa trademark. Phil
realized this and registered it in his name. Now Piaggio wants to bring
Vespa's back into the country, but they can't because they'd have to pay
Phil a buncha money to license their own name from him. So Piaggio has
called foul and is sueing Phil for fraudulently registering the Vespa
trademark in his name. I think Scooterworks is counter-sueing for
something.. who knows.
