I detest McDonald's as much as anyone but can't understand why people whinge
on about them and ignore tons of places that readily advertise that they sell
halal meat because of some offensive collection of superstitions the rest of
us had the sense to discard before this century. (Still - they try and cover
that up and then this whole phenomenon of 'Halal McDonalds' rises up...)
Is it because many vegetarians (and I'm not having a go, I was one once) find
that anti-religious feeling (unless it's directed at Protestantism - which
hardly counts) conflicts badly with the wishy washy liberalism they are prone
to? I dunno. That's why I asked you.
