How fucking annoying is it when people respond to entire posts and we have
to read the same god damn post sixty times...how rude.
RE:Bam Caruso, they also planned to do a Mark Four lp "Marking Time" but
that never materialized either. I'd heard of the Bam Caruso/Israphone
connection but forgot about that one! That was well over ten years ago! I
have an Israphone comp lp called "Screaming Twisted Teenage Fuzzbusters"
with tracks by a lot of bands you'd see on Bam Caruso comps (Dee Jays,
Koobas, etc). Bam Caruso's end came, I think, after they got a bit too big
for their boots and started doing comps on a grand scale like The Seeds, and
Left Banke et al. Stuff that obviously did not see on the grand scale that
Phil Smee and Richard Norris had hoped. Those CD's out now that seem to be
mixing various "Rubble" comps are a bit odd. Anyone know if they're
bootlegged or actually through the Bam Caruso guys? I bought all the
"Rubble" lps (except the "modern" one and the one that was predominantly
Dutch psych)and was always disappointed that they didn't delve further into
the cOlumbia/Parlophone archives instead of the Pye/Piccadilly stuff, which
was pretty weak for the most part. But the Pye stuff is owned by
Sequel/Castle who freely license the stuff so it was probably cheaper to do
than to expect the mighty EMI to give up the rights for some cool
Parlophone/Columbia stuff sitting in archives.
